9 is a significant and very sacred number for many different cultures. Cats have 9 lives and the Ancient Maya thought there were 9 steps in the underworld. Specific to India, they believed that uneven numbers were important to maintain balance. I like that this is not a literal number 9, but an interpretation of NINE. You need balance when on a ladder, or stepping on stones. You can count your steps. 9 is versatile and amounts to something greater.
