X
This is an old well at Lothal, an ancient historical site (5,000 years old) that rests about an hour outside Ahmedabad, India. The iron "X" was obviously placed on this well in recent history... but why? Why the need to mark the spot? X is such a prominent symbol used in signs across the world, but I think it's overused. Please correct me if there is some hidden excavation reason they installed this "cover", but I think it's unnecessary to toil with the old well.
