Publicis- Team One Advertising

Love the copy "But it's just more fun showing old people". This is true! You're sitting around the dinner table and what are you going to talk about with your elderly family members? HOW TIGHT YOUR BOOST MOBILE IS. Then they spread the word to their friends (or hommies). Products shape our generation, as well as reflect our generations. If one generation picks up a new product, they need to share it with the older generation so we can all feel connected to these products (especially useful ones like phones). I remember hooking both of my grandparents up with cell phones. They don't use them often, but it's still comforting to know I can get a hold of them.

This one does a good job of selling a feature of the phone. It isn't an annoying commercial with a close up of the phone with some text trying to tell you it's a decent price. Most cell phone plans are affordable now-a-days. The product differentiation is what makes someone buy one phone over the other. When this ad came out ring tones were a big deal. The concept of having a song play for the answering machine was new and original. It set you apart. It also lets the consumer add to their identity by what song they chose. Let's not forget, it confuses Grandma and Grandpa into thinking you are at church!

This is a little corny... "Baby come back"? Come on... they could find a more upbeat tune (AT THE LEAST!) They focus too much on the negative (the old broom) relaxing in the hottub trying to lull the user back to the old ways. They tried, but it just doesn't hit the funny-o-meter. I give them a 10 for being cheese balls!

Publicis-Fallon Worldwide+ Work that "combines lots of elements"

These three commercials advertising SONY BRAVIA "Color" are INSANE. They work and reward because they give you a fantasy of color. They let your mind play and relax at the same time. What WORKS is it tells you about the product. The color is FABULOUS and the moments you capture only happen once. So you BETTER have a good CAMERA and ink in your printer to keep these vibrant memories alive.

Other Work that "PUTS LOTS OF ELEMENTS TOGETHER TO MAKE SOMETHING SPECIAL":

This is a spectacular ad for a lot of reasons. I like it because it takes you out of your chair and takes you to a fantasy land. It's a place I've never been and a place I want to stay in and be engaged. It's like seeing Alice and Wonderland for the first time, it's riveting. It's also providing a broader message. A diesel engine that has barely a sound! They are taking something (the sound of a loud diesel engine, that everyone HATES- and HONDA is making the diesel sound good...something that everyone loves (or loves to hate because they are jellous they don't have a diesel themselves.

Reminds me of the good ole days. I LOVED rice krispy squares (and still do). But my mom would never buy them because they were "junk food". I remember the commercials because I just started playing Sonic the Hedgehog computer game and the scenery in these ads looked like a video game.

I remember this one as well. The factory made it seem like a magical place. The cereal really was magical. Because of these commercials I would put my ear next to the bowl so I can hear them "snap crackle & pop". These ads are really great because they target the children who run to their mommy to buy rice krispies at the store. My mom wouldn't buy the squares, but the cereal (out of all the "junk" cereals) was the most bland and healthy. I would still eat 2-3 bowls of this before school because it was so YUMMY!

totally rad.

Wow. For the first couple of minutes I thought this as was promoting smoking. The badass (prodigy like) music reminded me of what Marlboro does for it's product. The image of the cigarette men dancing around and playing with fire made it seem like they could do anything they wanted. They emitted the care-free, badass, I don't care that cigarettes are dangerous- I know they're dangerous and I like it mentality. However, when the little paper cigarette men start burning in the fire, you know it's an anti-smoking ad. It was a riveting way to promote anti-tobacco because you want to join the party untill someone gets hurt. I liked the human intervention at the end because it made it more "real". It was sad when the guy saw all the little dead fellas lying in their own ashes. Essentially, if you die from smoking, you do turn into what you smoke-ashes.

RGA

RGA... Digital Agency of the Decade!

http://www.rga.com/
Check out their three videos. I love the piano music and overlapping of the all the work they've done in the second and third videos. The unpredictable, and jazz like unpredictability of the sounds is great for a collage video like this. It really gives you a good picture(s) of what they've been working on. Out of all of the website I've seen so far, this was the most engaging and accessible. It's layout is similar to an online newspaper, and you want to keep scrolling down to see what else they have to say.

ATTENTION ALL CREATIVES...Check out what a "platform is"...IT MIGHT BE USEFUL

Thatsnotcool.com
This website RGA made is targeting  pre-teens, teens, and really anyone who feels overwhelmed by social networks and texting "stalkers" or "texting bullies". Texting bullies are people who spread rumors or naked pictures of their girlfriend/boyfriends via text-YIKES! Note: if you're under 18, this is ILLEGAL and considered child pornography...so be careful youngings (and everyone for that matter).

I'm a firm believer that it's not healthy to text your boyfriend (or friends or family) constantly. It gives you a headache and takes your mind off of what you're doing, or should be doing. Texting or "sexting" has gone too far. Girls think boys like them because they text them, but who knows how many other girls they sent that mass text to! It confuses couples and makes them feel like they are in a relationship when they text their significant other incessantly... However, they are only in a texting relationship.

Couples and friends need more face to face interaction to really get to know one another. It's scary that we know everything about everyone... I guess it's just something our generation will have to adapt to, or change. Who knows what kind of texting laws will come into play. "Yeah, I put a restriction order so he can't text me anymore"...YIKES!

INTERPUBLIC-T.A.G. SF

SF, Halo 3 ODST

This commercial is a collaborative effort between many high tech companies, including T.A.G. SF. I liked how real it was... a bit scary though. I felt like it was more of a movie and not a game... I suppose they want you to think that so you have a "real life" experience in the game...yikes. Who would want to go to war, let alone, who really thinks of it as a game? I don't get how a game of death is something you want to "Jump In" to and I'm glad T.A.G. didn't go with the same XBOX slogan "jump in" for this halo ad. Halo 3 odst is for a sick market of kids who want to blow shit up and experience war...yet they are too pussy to actually go to war so they sit on their buts playing video games...

Enough ranting...this ad is a bit more inspiring:

I thought this ad would be better if it was shorter. The voiceover and cheesey family eating dinner ruined it. They could have stopped after the gates opened and the horses ran for a little. That was my favorite part because it was unexpected. BOOM the music goes and the horses go wild. I also liked the copy in the beginning, especially "once upon a time is now". Original and unique way of revisiting a cliche "Once upon a time". Not too cheesey in the beginning...but got progressively worse. All in all, if this ad was shortened and maybe they put up a website instead of explaining ticket prices etc, it would be better.
